Strategic Objective
To enable the successful transition from analogue broadcast operations to fully digital television services by integrating a diverse range of broadcast, storage, control and automation systems into a unified operational platform.
The objective was to create a seamless digital broadcast environment capable of supporting automated content management, scheduling, transmission and operational control across a highly complex media infrastructure.
The Challenge / Need
Between 1998 and 2000, Australia’s television industry was preparing for one of the most significant technology shifts in its history: the migration from analogue broadcasting to digital television.
Working alongside the engineering team at Network Ten, a major challenge emerged. Numerous specialised broadcast systems had been deployed from different manufacturers, each operating using proprietary interfaces and protocols.
Critical systems included:
- Integrated Broadcast Management Systems (IBMS).
- Tape control and media automation systems.
