In view of God’s mercy (Romans 12<\/a>), I find it difficult, not to offer myself as a thankful, grateful servant, to use the resources, skills and thoughtfulness that the Lord has brought to bear …. to launch MissionX. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This blog, therefore, is a Founders Case : to launch MissionX, a back story to my Why! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Equipping and Empowering Generations of Ministry Leader in Training & Development”<\/p>\nMissionX Founder – M Slatter<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

MissionX is an Intergenerational Trust Fund with the sole purpose of distributing dividends to Equip and Empower Generations of Ministry Leaders in Training and Development<\/em>. (please see the Funds Launch<\/a> page).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My Why<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As a contemporary business Leader, part of my consulting firms offer is to consult with companies to facilitate them finding their ‘Mission’! their purpose! their ‘differentiator’! what makes them special from the competition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In short, I facilitate them finding their “Why”?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My and my wife’s purpose (and by extension my family’s purpose) is ‘In light of God’s mercies, commit the time, energy and resources to Love, Serve and Honour the Lord in ALL that we do.”<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am convinced and convicted in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, our Lord and Savior! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am also convinced that I\/we are here now, for his purpose, for his glory, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10<\/a>). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a Christian man, with my own desires and pursuits, I am also reminded “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails”<\/em> (Proverbs 19:21<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This being the case<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In this light, as I seek a deeper and deeper connection with my Lord, I have been blessed to study and connect in an evangelical church understanding the scriptures as the Lord reveals them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Paul lays out in Romans 12<\/a>, “in view of God\u2019s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God”<\/em> aligning one’s here and now ambitions with the Lord’s will “Then you will be able to test and approve what God\u2019s will is\u2014his good, pleasing and perfect will.”<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a contemporary business leader<\/a>, having led large multinational businesses around the world, I have had the pleasure of leading many in the pursuit of their own ambitions (whilst seeking after my own), however, have come to appreciate the eternal shallowness of this pursuit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond my Career<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Whilst ever I have a deep passion for ‘equipping and empowering Good companies to be Great’<\/em> through my consulting work (Ephesians 2:10<\/a>). As Executive Leader, I believe it is with a complex mixture of God-given humility and God-given indomitable will that I seek to serve others, engaging those God-given attributes to full effect to focus my energies on Equip and Empower Generations of Ministry Leaders in Training and Development<\/em>, rather than simply pursuing my own personal gain or advancement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I believe that the scriptures make a case for professional success and ambition and that these can be compatible with Christian faith and values, as long as Christ is first and that our identity is in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17<\/a>, Galatians 2:20<\/a>) and not our success (Matthew 6:24<\/a>, Matthew 16:26<\/a>, Philippians 3:7-8<\/a>, 1 Timothy 6:10<\/a>). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passion<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It is on this, that I believe in the pursuit of excellence and achievement (Colossians 3:23-24<\/a>) and using the talents, skills and attributes (Matthew 25:14-30) the Lord has blessed me, as a way of glorifying God and using these to their fullest potential for the sake of Christ (Philippians 2:3-4<\/a>, 1 Corinthians 10:31<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Scriptures assemble a caution and urge humility in the face of the dangers of greed, pride, and other vices that can accompany professional ambition (Luke 12:15<\/a>). In this light, I have assembled a team, a board, for which to stay accountable, as it is profoundly important to remain humble, stand with integrity, and commit to ethical behaviour at all times (1 Peter 2:12<\/a>, Colossians 4:5-6<\/a>, Matthew 5:14-16<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As one part of the Body, MissionX seeks to serve the Body and use MissionX’s talents and resources in a way that honours God and serves others, rather than simply pursuing personal gain or ambition, “as it pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth”<\/em> (1 Timothy 2:1-4<\/a>).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
